What Credits can I apply for that may get me more money back on my income tax return?
Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC)
The Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) sometimes called the Earned Income Credit (EIC), is a refundable federal income tax credit for low-income working individuals and families. When the EITC exceeds the amount of taxes owed, it results in a tax refund to those who claim and qualify for the credit.
You may be eligible to receive up to $5,666 cash back on your return by applying for the EITC!!
The EITC has no effect on certain Welfare benefits. In most cases, EITC payments will not be used to determine eligibility for Medicaid, Supplemental Security Income (SSI), food stamps, low income housing or most Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) payments.
Do I qualify for EITC this year?
Find out if you are eligible for the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) by answering some questions and providing basic income information using the

Child Tax Credit
With the Child Tax Credit, the low-to-moderate income individual/family may be able to reduce their federal income tax by up to $1,000 for each qualifying child under the age of 17.
A qualifying child for this credit is someone who meets the following criteria:
• Age - Was under age 17 at the end of 2010
• Relationship - Is your son, daughter, adopted child, stepchild or eligible foster child, brother, sister, stepbrother, stepsister, or a descendant of any of these individuals
• Citizenship - Is a U.S. citizen, U.S. national or resident of the U.S.
• Support - Did not provide over half of his or her own support, and
• Lived with you - Must have lived with you for more than half of 2010 (note that some exceptions to this criteria exist)
The credit is limited if your modified adjusted gross income is above a certain amount. The amount
at which this phase-out begins varies depending on your filing status:
• Married Filing Jointly $110,000
• Married Filing Separately $55,000
• All others $75,000
